Travel and transport

Blue Badges:

You can apply for a Blue Badge for Disabled Parking online at GOV.UK

Motability:

It’s possible to exhange the mobility component of certain welfare benefits for an accesible vehicle using the Motability Scheme.

Transport for London (TfL)’s Mobility Aid Recognition Scheme (MARS) Card:

You can apply for a MARS card for your child if you use a mobility aid, including a buggy to carry bulky medical equipment. The MARS card recognises their mobility aid, so that bus drivers lower the ramps for you to be able to board safely at accessible doors. The MARS card also provides confirmation that the aid has been assessed as safe and suitable for use on a bus, for instance a specailist wheelchair which has been measured (including turning circles) to determine it can safely be used on a London bus. You can read more about the scheme here.

To be assessed for a TfL MARS card contact email travelmentor@tfl.gov.uk or call us 020 3054 4361 (Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm | network charges may apply).
